iTeams FAQ

Back to iTeams page.

Q: How can I learn more about iTeams?
A: Click on the iTeams Tag for this site and see all the documents shared here. Visit the iTeams Leadership Group at MSAD 75's learning network. Use the iTeams tag at the District's Learning Network to view and read blog posts, bookmarks, pages and other resources there. The iTeams Advisor also uses a blog to write about iTeams. See posts there by using the iTeams tag there.

Q: Where can I get the iTeam Activity Log address?
A: Here: iTeamLog. Drag it to your bookmark bar and then you will be able to use it easily. You can similarly us this link to the iTeams home page.

Q: What if I want to participate but can't come to school for morning meetings?
A: We are starting with a time that works for the largest number of people. We will create other opportunities to participate. We hope to develop capacity for some members to work on online projects that will have greater scheduling flexibility.

Q: I have an idea but I'm not sure whether it will work. How can I start?
A: Share your idea with iTeam members, other students, teachers, parents or community members who can help to develop and refine your initial idea.

Q: What if I want to particpate in iTeams and want to do a project but I don't have an idea. How can I find a project or idea?
A: Ask questions:
  • Ask yourself, "What interests me?"
  • Look at the TechYES Project Ideas page to see what others have done.
  • Ask peer mentors to help you find an idea.
  • Ask other iTeam members to work with you to find an idea.
  • Ask the iTeams Advisor.
  • Ask computer center staff.
  • Ask your teachers whether they have projects that they'd like some help exploring.
  • ...

Q: How should I document my work on projects?
A: Create a digital document where you will be able to record progress on all stages of your project. Use an iTeam Project Template to make sure that you include all the important pieces of your project: Title, Brief Description, Longer Description, List of the members of the project team, journal of progress, ...

Q: Will I be missing any class time for iTeam?
A: For the most part, participation in iTeams will not cause students to miss class time. In the past, iTeams have participated in the annual MLTI conference so some students have missed a few classes. In those cases, we anticipate that students and teachers will plan for the absences in advance and students will be responsible for the work they miss.

Q: How do I (a teacher, community member or other user of iTeam services) request assistance or contact the iTeam?
A: iTeam leaders are actively developing those methods and procedures. Please stay tuned. Look at the iTeam Projects page to consider helping to develop this capacity. Until that time, please write to the iTeams Advisor at spaeths [at] link75 [dot] org

Q: If I participate and a student in one of my classes is using the internet  or network inappropriately what is my responsibility as an iTeam member?
A:
